National Citizens Party (NCP) South Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah has said that those who stand for reforms will win the upcoming national election and secure a majority in parliament.
Speaking to reporters after attending an organizational meeting of the NCP’s Jhalakathi district unit as the chief guest on Friday afternoon, Hasnat expressed optimism about his party’s prospects.
He said the NCP is confident about winning a majority but added that if a coalition government becomes necessary, the party will make decisions through discussions with other forces aligned with the reform movement.
“The position that NCP takes is the one everyone eventually accepts,” Hasnat said. “At the end of the day, the trophy belongs to the one who owns the field — and that trophy is going to the NCP.”
On the role of the interim government in the next election, Hasnat said his party expects it to act impartially and neutrally. “We want democracy to win through a fair vote,” he added, expressing hope for cooperation among all political parties.
Around 300 district-level leaders attended Friday’s coordination meeting held at a community center in Jhalakathi town. The event was presided over by district unit president Mainul Islam Manna, with several central leaders also in attendance.
