Lowly Muktijoddha Sangsad KC earned a surprising 3-0 goals win over former champions Sheikh Russel KC in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football '2021-22 at Bashundhara Sports Complex on Saturday.

With only their 2nd victory in eight matches, the freedom fighters' club Muktijoddha advanced to 10th place securing six points while Sheikh Russel KC went down to 11th slot with five points from eight encounters.

Japanese attacking midfielder Soma Otani scored first for Muktijoddha in the 22nd minute (1-0), local Medio Didarul Alam doubled the margin in the 54th minute (2-0) while forward Aminur Rahman Sajib sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal for Muktijoddha in the 81st minute (3-0).
The day's other league match between Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Uttar Baridhara Club ended in a goalless draw at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.

After the day's outcome, traditional Mohammedan SC remained at 7th slot with 10 points while Uttar Baridhara at the 8th slot with right points, both playing right matches each.
