The Netherlands secured a historic win by defeating South Africa in Tuesday's World Cup match.
This triumph marks their first victory in a World Cup match since 2007.

The Netherlands has never beaten a test-playing nation like South Africa in the World Cup. Their two prior World Cup wins were against Namibia and Scotland.
In this rain-affected match, South Africa won the toss and chose to field, sending the Netherlands in to bat first.

Struggling to find their rhythm, the Dutch team lost half their wickets before reaching the 100-run mark. The Netherlands''captain, Scott Edwards, led from the front with an impressive 78 off 69 balls.
For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, and Kagiso Rabada each secured two wickets.

In response, South Africa lost four wickets before even posting 50 runs on the board, never quite recovering from the initial blow. After the top order's failure, South Africa's middle order also faltered.
Though David Miller and Keshav Maharaj reached the 40-run mark, it wasn't sufficient for South Africa.
The Netherlands' Logan van Beek claimed three wickets, while Paul van Meekeren, Roelof van der Merwe, and Bas de Leede took two wickets each.
In the end, South Africa tumbled for 207 in 42.5 overs, resulting in a 38-run loss.
South Africa commenced their World Cup campaign with convincing wins against Australia and Sri Lanka. Conversely, the Netherlands faced defeats in their initial two matches against New Zealand and Pakistan.
