Premier Volleyball: BGB, Police win

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Police AC won their respective matches in the Bangabandhu Popular Life Insurance 21st Premier Division Volleyball League beating their rivals at the Shaheed Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium here on Thursday.

BGB defeated Wari Club by 24-26, 25-15, 25-17 and 15-14 points while Police AC beat Water Development Board (WDB) by straight 25-16, 27-25 and 25-21 points.

Friday’s matches are- Azad SC vs Bangladesh Ansar (2pm) and Bangladesh Jail (Prison Directorate) vs Dhaka Sabuj (4pm).

A total of 10 teams, split into two groups are taking part in the League.

The participating teams are:

Group A - Titas Club, Water Development Board (WDB), Police AC, Bangladesh Jail (Prison Directorate) and Dhaka Sabuj

Group B - Power Development Board (PDB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Wari Club, Azad SC and Bangladesh Ansar.

On completion of the League basis group matches, two top teams from each group will earn the right to play in the semifinals. Both the semifinals will be held on January 27 while the final is billed for January 28.
