To replace injured pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) called up Hasan Mahmud for the third ODI against Sri Lanka, which will be played on March 18 in Chattogram.
Tanzim sustained a hamstring injury during the first ODI in Chattogram. Despite this, he participated in the second ODI and bowled all 10 overs while managing his injury. However, his condition worsened during a net session thereafter.

“Tanzim is experiencing pain and discomfort of his right hamstring. He did not feel any better at training today and is not fit to play tomorrow,” Bayjedul Islam Khan, national team physio, said.
Earlier, confirming Tanzim’s unavailability in the third ODI, Gazi Ashraf Hossain, the chief selector of BCB told UNB that they were working to finalise a replacement for Tanzim.

In the first two ODIs, Tanzim took four wickets, including three in the first match that Bangladesh won.
Prior to this series, Tanzim played nine matches in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and claimed 11 wickets.
His absence in the final match, which will decide the series as both teams have won one match each, will certainly be a setback for the Bangladesh team.
But Hasan has also proved his mettle in ODIs, taking 30 wickets in 22 matches, with the best figures of taking 5 wickets for 32 runs.
