The Samsung M series has been the go-to budget smartphone for many since its initial release in 2019 with the M10. This series from Samsung has always been big on the battery and camera lenses which were its defining feature in the budget segment. Samsung has stayed true to the core concept with the M series but also derived some quirks and features from the higher-end A series. The result? Samsung Galaxy M53 5G. The device is scheduled to be announced on 27th March 2022 with a release date being sometime in April. Design and Build Quality
Not much is known about the build and dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy M53. Samsung has always kept an all-around plastic build for the M series except for its display. This was one of the important cost-cutting measures for the M series. Going by the previous trend, the M53 should also be a plastic back and frame phone with a possible Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front.
The power button on the device will double as the physical fingerprint scanner. This has been the norm lately on most entry-level smartphones and Samsung won’t walk a different route here. The usual port selection will be the same as the M51 albeit the 3.5 mm headphone jack. There is a dedicated micro SDXC slot along with the dual standby sim. Users will also get a bottom-firing speaker which unfortunately isn’t a stereo one. The USB Type-C has become a standard choice and Samsung will be using the latest 2.0 technology on the M53.
Overall, the design and build quality doesn’t suggest anything unique for the device. But that was expected given the aggressive pricing strategy with the series.
Display

The 6.67-inch FHD+ 120 Hz panel will boast the Super AMOLED panel from Samsung. This is the same tech used on the flagship S 22 series with a higher resolution and ppi. The colors and details on the panel look sharp as ever with deep blacks and high contrasts. The viewing angles of the panel are miles better than anything out on the market within the same price bracket. Overall, it’s a perfect display and frankly more than what was expected from Samsung for the latest M series device.
Camera
Moving onto the camera, the M53 will boast a quad camera setup. Samsung has always been about the numbers and it shows. The main lens will be a 108 MP f/1.9 wide-angle shooter. It is complemented by an 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro, and a 2 MP depth sensor.
There aren’t any camera samples available from the device so it can’t be said for sure how it will perform in real life. The previous generation featured a 64 MP shooter which performed relatively well. So, it is expected that the new sensors will perform similarly, if not better.

The front camera is a 32 MP one just like the M51. The videography is rated to be 4K at 30 fps.
Processor and Performance
Samsung has moved between Snapdragon and MediaTek over the years with the M51 being powered by the Snapdragon 730G. However, the M53 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chip based on the 6 Nm architecture. The processor is slated to be octa-core with 2 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 and 6 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 chips.
This is definitely not a high-end processor rather a mid-range performer as reflected by its benchmark scores. The real-world usage data isn't available yet but the processor has been seen on devices like OnePlus Nord CE2 and the Oppo Find X lite. From a performance standpoint, the device will be able to handle lightweight to heavy usage. Gamers can rest assured as the device will be able to run graphic intensive games at max settings.

The phone will come with Android 12 out of the box running Samsung’s own One UI 4.1. One UI came a long way from its initial days and now it provides one of the smoothest Android experiences out there. So, users will have a snappy and convenient experience using the device.
Battery and Charge Time
The Samsung M53 5G will feature a 5000 mAh battery. It’s the perfect size for a mid-range device given the display and performance capacity. Users can expect to get around 7 to 8 hours of SoT with a full charge. The phone will also support 25W fast charging but Samsung hasn’t provided any charging time data.
Price of Samsung M53 5G in Bangladesh
The phone is expected to be launched in India with a 24,999 Rs price tag for the 6/128 GB variant. This roughly translates to 28,319 BDT (1 INR = 1.13 BDT). However, the pricing may vary depending on supply, tax, and company policy.
