Police arrested five robbers from Kotwali Thana of the city while they were preparing to stage a robbery in the early hours on Monday. The arrestees are Saiful Islam Babu, 30, Md Rubel, 28, Md Monir, 38, Md Sohag, 26, and Md Raja, 26. Read: Writ petition filed seeking Tk 10 crore as compensation for Joj Mia Acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers conducted an operation near Polo Ground Multipurpose High School around 3:30 am and arrested the robbers while they were preparing for a robbery, Zahedul Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station. Police also recovered several local weapons to be used in the robbery from their possession, he said, adding that multiple cases were filed against the arrestees in different police stations.
