Stock Market: Week begins with uptrend
The Dhaka and Chattogram stock markets started the week on a positive note, continuing the upward trend observed last week.
Trading in the first hour on Sunday saw key indices rising on both bourses.
At the opening of trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX index gained 5 points. Among the other indices, the Shariah-based DSES index saw a marginal increase, while the blue-chip DS30 index rose by 3 points.
Most company shares experienced price gains. Of the traded companies, prices increased for 169, declined for 87, and remained unchanged for 83.
Within the first 30 minutes, the total turnover on the DSE exceeded Tk 50 crore.

Similarly, the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) saw its overall index rise by 10 points. Of the traded companies, 22 recorded price gains, 7 saw declines, and 6 remained unchanged.
In the first half-hour, the total turnover at the CSE crossed Tk 30 lakh.

Stock markets open higher in Dhaka, Chattogram
Trading at both the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges began on an upward trend on Wednesday (5 February), with most company shares witnessing price increases.
At the start of the trading session, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the DSEX, rose by 27 points. The Shariah-based DSES index and the blue-chip DS30 index each gained 7 points.
In the early hours of trading, share prices increased for 250 companies, while 52 saw declines, and 59 remained unchanged.

During the first hour, the DSE recorded share and unit transactions worth over Tk 100 crore.
Meanwhile, the overall index of the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) increased by 14 points at the beginning of the session.
Among the 60 companies traded on the CSE, prices rose for 38, fell for 16, and remained unchanged for 6. The total value of shares and units traded at the start of the session surpassed Tk 50 lakh.

DSEX index drops by 8.06 points, TK 427.5 crore traded on Tuesday
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended Tuesday’s trading with a downtrend.
Trading started in the morning with an upward trend, but indexes started to drop after 12 pm.
According to the trade record, the DSEX (broad index) decreased by 8.06 points to settle at 5,190.77 points, compared to 33.67 points up in the previous session (Monday). The Shariah-based DSES index fell by 2.69 points to settle at 1158.89 points, and the DS30 blue-chip index increased by 10.87 points to settle at 1922.74 points on Tuesday.
A total of 17.14 crore shares and units changed hands through 127188 transactions, while 12.87 crore shares were traded in the previous session.
A total of Tk 427.5 crore worth of shares and bonds were traded in the DSE on Tuesday which saw an increase from the previous session of Tk 362.6 crore.
Out of the 399 companies that participated in trading, 162 advanced, 164 declined and 73 remained unchanged at the DSE.

The port city bourse, CSE, also settled on an upward trend of trading. The All-Share Price Index (CASPI) increased by 36.6 points and settled at 14502.88 points.
On the CSE, 206 companies participated in trading. Of them, 115 companies recorded price gains, 61 companies saw decline, and 30 companies remained unchanged.
At the CSE, shares and units of 27.26 lakh changed hands through 1966 transactions. The value of trading shares and units was Tk 6.73 crore, which was Tk 8.49 crore in the previous session.

DSE sees upward trend with Tk 556cr in trade today
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) continued its positive momentum for the third consecutive day on Thursday, despite mixed market reactions and selling pressures.
Thursday’s trading session saw DSE indexes rise initially, followed by a brief downturn after the first two hours. However, by around 1:00 pm, the indexes recovered and sustained an upward trend until the close.
Dhaka Stock Exchange closes on a high note today; 373 companies see price increase
DSE data shows that 23.19 crore shares and units were exchanged across 176,106 transactions, with the day’s total trade value reaching Tk 556 crore, up from Tk 519 crore on Wednesday.
A total of 397 companies participated in Thursday’s trading, with share prices for 212 companies rising, 151 declining, and 34 remaining unchanged.
The DSEX, DSE’s primary index, gained 34.56 points to close at 5,199.40 points. The Shariah-based DSES index rose by 8.68 points to 1,144.90, and the DS30, comprising blue-chip stocks, increased by 10.19 points to 1,926.05.

Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw a modest increase, with the CASPI index gaining 0.65 points to close at 14,442.00 points. On the CSE, 51.61 lakh shares and units changed hands across 1,833 transactions. Of the 208 companies traded, 133 recorded gains, 59 saw losses, and 16 remained unchanged.
The CSE’s transaction volume stood at Tk 4.84 crore, slightly down from Tk 6.90 crore on the previous day.
