Bangladesh is now home to 237 LEED certified factories
The number of factories achieving LEED certification has grown significantly and Bangladesh is now home to 237 LEED certified factories.
This impressive total includes 95 factories that have attained the highest Platinum rating, 128 that have earned Gold status, and 10 that have been awarded Silver.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world's most widely used green building rating system.
LEED certification provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings, which offer environmental, social and governance benefits.

"Furthermore, our nation stands out with 63 factories among the top 100 highest-rated LEED Certified Factories globally, reinforcing our position on the international stage," said former BGMEA President Faruque Hassan.
He said Bangladesh's commitment to environmental stewardship is stronger than ever.
This journey towards sustainability has not been without its challenges, yet it highlights the commitment to positive changes, he said.
"The progress ensures our social and environmental alignment with the global due diligence priorities," said the Director of the International Apparel Federation.
He said they eagerly anticipate continuing this inspiring journey with steadfast support from their partners and stakeholders. "Our collective effort is pivotal as we forge ahead in our quest for a sustainable tomorrow."
