3-day Hajj and Umrah fair to begin Aug 14
A three-day Hajj and Umrah Fair 2025 will begin at Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital on Thursday.
The three-day event organised by Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) will continue till August 16.
A press conference held at Hotel Victoria in the capital on Tuesday to share relevant information for prospective pilgrims.
Syed Golam Sarwar, president of HAAB, said, “Most of the Hajj pilgrims reside in rural areas of Bangladesh. While most Hajj and Umrah operations are based in Dhaka and this fair will create connections between agencies and pilgrims across the country. Our goal is to offer services using modern technology and accurate information, free from the influence of unscrupulous individuals and middlemen.”
“The fair aims to raise awareness among prospective pilgrims about Hajj procedures, guidelines and related government and private-sector initiatives,” he said.
Govt approves 234 more agencies for 2026 Hajj operations
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the e-Hajj system and the route to Mecca initiatives during the fair.
HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumdar said attendees can review the various packages and services offered by different Hajj agencies and make direct bookings without middlemen.
Information about support available from banks and financial institutions will also be shared during the fair, he said.
Bangladesh is currently the fourth-largest sender of Hajj pilgrims globally.
