A woman was killed and a police officer injured in a head-on collision in Gazipur Sunday noon. The deceased was identified as Nasima Akter, 28, a resident of Kamardjuri in Gazipur City Corporation and daughter of Sirajul Islam of South Bansh Kandi in Madaripur district. According to the police and locals, injured Assistant Sub-Inspector Saeed Hossain of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN), was driving the motorcycle with Nasima Akter as his passenger. They were traveling from Kamardjuri to Dhaka when the motorcycle collided head-on with the oil-laden truck coming from the opposite direction on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, beneath the BRT project flyover. Youth killed in accident on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway Nasima died on the spot, while Saeed was seriously injured and taken to Dhaka Central Police Hospital. Tongi West Police Station Officer-in-Charge Iskandar Habibur Rahman said the truck and motorcycle were seized and brought to the police station. A case is being prepared in connection with the accident.
