130 sued over BNP activists-police clash in C'nawabganj
A case has been filed against 130 people in connection with the clash between BNP activists and police in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj that left five people including a cop injured on Sunday.
Sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station Sihab filed the case at the police station Sunday night accusing 130 BNP activists including 100 unidentified ones, said Zobayer Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station.
Police have so far arrested 12 people in this connection, the OC added.

On Sunday, BNP leaders and activists gathered near Islami Bank Mor of Shibganj Bazar to hold a rally as part of their central programme protesting the price hike of daily commodities including oil, gas, fertilizers and the murder of Swechchasebak Dal leader Abdur Rahim and Chhatra Dal president Noor-e Alam in Bhola.
At one stage, police obstructed them as a huge traffic jam was created there due to the rally.
The leaders and activists pelted brickbats targeting police, triggering a clash that left at least 5 people injured, said police.
Later, police lobbed tear gas shells and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control.

Around 600 sued over BNP men-police clash in Bhola
Two cases have been filed in connection with the clash between activists of BNP and police in Bhola that left one person dead and 30 injured on Monday.
Sub-inspector of Bhola Sadar Police Station Md Jasim filed a case with the police station Sunday night, said Enayet Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station.
Around 250-300 unnamed people were made accused in a murder case while 75 named and 300 unnamed people were sued in the other case filed on charge of assaulting police, the OC said.
On the other hand, the joint general secretary of Bhola District BNP Humayun Kabir Sopan said that they are preparing to file a complaint over the death.
Police have so far arrested ten people in this connection, the OC added.
Meanwhile, the party office of BNP in Bhola remained closed since Monday morning.

On Monday, BNP leaders and activists gathered in front of their district party office at Kalinath Roy Bazar in Sadar upazila on Monday morning to hold a rally as part of BNP’s demonstration programme.
At one stage, police obstructed them when they tried to stage demonstrations at Kalinath Roy Bazar around 11:30am.
The leaders and activists pelted brickbats targeting police, prompting them to fire bullets and lobbed tear gas shells, triggering a clash that left one person dead and at least 30 people injured, said police.

Over 500 sued over BNP men-police clash in Natore
Police filed a case against 516 people over the clash between BNP activists and police during BNP’s Monday’s rally demanding its chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release for her treatment abroad.
Natore Sadar Police Station SI Rafiqul Islam filed the case at noon against 516 people including 400 unidentified ones, said Abu Sadad, officer-in-charge of Natore Sadar Police Station.

Police have so far arrested nine people in this connection, the OC added.
Meanwhile, the party office of BNP in Natore remained closed since Tuesday morning.
On Monday, BNP leaders and activists gathered in front of their party office at Alaipur around 10 am to hold a rally as part of their central program demanding its Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release for her treatment abroad.
