Bangladesh reports 36 new Covid cases, no death
Bangladesh logged 35 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning, taking the total caseload to 19,51,867.
As per the latest government data, the country’s total fatalities remained unchanged at 29,123 as no death was reported during the period.
The daily positivity rate dropped to 0.52 per cent, lowest since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020, after testing 6,836 samples during the period.

On Monday, the number of infections was higher as 61 new cases were reported with one death, taking the positivity rate to 0.78 per cent.
Besides, the mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.49 per cent, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The recovery rate rose to 96.59 per cent with the recovery of 899 more patients during the 24-hour period.
Earlier on March 27, Bangladesh logged its lowest daily positivity rate at 0.54 per cent reporting 43 cases with zero death.
The country reported first zero Covid-related death in a single day on November 20 last year along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.

On January 28, Bangladesh logged its previous highest daily positivity rate at 33.37 per cent reporting 15,440 cases and 20 deaths.
Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.

Bangladesh reports 81 new Covid cases, no death
Bangladesh logged 81 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours till Friday morning, taking the total caseload to 19,51,658.
As per the latest government data, the country’s total fatalities remained unchanged at 29,122 as no death was reported during the period.
On Thursday, the number of infections was lower as 73 new cases were reported with no death.

The daily positivity rate increased to 1.09 per cent from Thursday’s 0.78 per cent after testing 7,370 samples during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Besides, the mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.49 per cent.
The recovery rate rose to 96.44 per cent with the recovery of 893 more patients during the 24-hour period.
Covid situation in March
In March, the country reported 85 Covid-linked deaths and 8,000 new cases while 66,639 patients recovered from the disease, according to DGHS.
Among the 85 deaths during the period, 44 were unvaccinated patients, 11 were vaccinated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, 28 with the second dose and two with the third dose.

Covid-19: Bangladesh reports only one death; positivity rate rises to 1.39%
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-linked death with the health authorities logging 291 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
The detection of the new cases after testing 20,761 samples took the daily-case positivity rate to 1.39 per cent during the period, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the fresh numbers, the total fatalities rose to 28,051 while the caseload mounted to 15,81,634.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent during the period.
Besides, the recovery rate remained steady at 97.75 per cent with the recovery of 264 more patients during the 24-hour period.
On December 9, Bangladesh again logged zero Covid-related death after nearly three weeks as the pandemic was apparently showing signs of easing.

Bangladesh reports only one covid-linked death in 24hrs with 269 cases
Bangladesh logged only one Covid-related death along with 269 fresh cases in 24 hours till Friday morning.
With the latest cases, the daily-case positivity rate increased to 1.34 per cent from Thursday’s 1.22 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The deceased was a woman in her eighties from Chattogram division.

The total fatalities mounted to 28,017 while the caseload mounted to 15,78 819, with the fresh number of cases.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent during the period.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 20,066 samples, amid the growing concern over the new ‘Omicron’ variant of coronavirus.
Besides, the recovery rate remained unchanged at 97.78 per cent with the recovery of 249 more patients during the 24-hour period.

So far, 4,20,43,323 people have fully been vaccinated in the country while 6,62,87,396 received the first dose as of Thursday, according to the DGHS.
Among them, 2,07,010 students, aged from 12-17, have fully been vaccinated while 11,89,540 students received the first dose so far.

However, some of the leading public health experts in Bangladesh have warned that the current trend of plummeting Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh could well be the obvious calm before a cataclysmic storm.
Their fears centre around children below 12 who remain out of the vaccine coverage and the elderly people.
These experts fear a slow pace of vaccination, waning vaccine immunity, sheer disregard for Covid-safety protocols, reopening of schools and increased travel may set the stage for another Covid wave in Bangladesh -- a trend many European countries are witnessing now.
