Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday recovered one kg of crystal meth from Hlila at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.
BGB-2 Teknaf battalion confirmed it in a press release issued on Tuesday.
While patrolling at Obrang area of Hlila around 11pm, a patrol team of BGB-2 in Teknaf saw two men crossing the Naf River with a plastic bag towards Bangladesh.
When the BGB men challenged them, they jumped into the river and fled across the border into Myanmar, leaving the bag.
BGB estimated the drug worth Tk. 5 crore.
