“If the friendly relation and mutual understanding between the two neighbouring countries are good then it's easier to solve any (bilateral) problem,” he told the media after a call-on meeting with new Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswami at the Secretariat.
He said the sharing of water of many common rivers, including Teesta, is an important issue and noted that both countries are hopeful about resolving it.
