The Shipping Ministry on Wednesday launched a control room to deal with various issues centering Cyclone Amphan.
The control room central number is 9546072, said a press release. It started operating at 8am today and will be open at a stretch till 10pm on May 22.
Cyclone Amphan is set to make landfall on the coast bordering India and Bangladesh this evening, with winds predicted at upto 200 kph to 220 kph wind speeds at its centre.

The maritime ports of Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist great danger signal number 10 while Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar have been advised to hoist great danger signal number 9.
