An octogenarian man who was suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem died at Palgiri village in Kachua upazila of Chandpur on Thursday.
Dr Salauddin Mahmud, health and family planning officer of Kachua Upazila Health Complex, said Majibur Rahman Bacchu, 80, had been suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem for the last several days.
A medical team collected samples from the deceased for testing coronavirus.
Earlier, Shahadat Hossain Manik, 45, son of the deceased and an employee of a garment factory ,died with the same symptoms on May 19.
Later, the local administration put the house under lockdown.
