Octogenarian man dies with fever, cold in Chandpur
An octogenarian man who was suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem died at Palgiri village in Kachua upazila of Chandpur on Thursday.
Dr Salauddin Mahmud, health and family planning officer of Kachua Upazila Health Complex, said Majibur Rahman Bacchu, 80, had been suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem for the last several days.
A medical team collected samples from the deceased for testing coronavirus.
Earlier, Shahadat Hossain Manik, 45, son of the deceased and an employee of a garment factory ,died with the same symptoms on May 19.
Later, the local administration put the house under lockdown.
The death toll from coronavirus in Bangladesh has reached at 559 with the detection of 15 more deaths while the number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 40,321 as the country reported 2029 new patients in a single day on Thursday.

Woman dies with fever, respiratory problem in Jashore
A woman suffering from fever and breathing problem at Swarupdah village in Chowgachha upazila died on Thursday.
Dr Lutfunnahar Lucky, health and family planning officer of Chowgachha upazila Health Complex, said the woman came to the hospital with respiratory problem and fever in the early hours on Thursday and the authorities concerned of the hospital collected her samples.
As the woman’s condition deteriorated, she was referred to Jashore 250-bed hospital.
But the relatives of the patient took her to the house where she breathed her last in the afternoon.

Sexagenarian woman dies with fever, cold at KMCH
A sexagenarian woman who had been suffering with fever and cold died at Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Khadiza, 65, a resident of Tutpara in the city.
Dr Shoilendra Biswas, a spokesperson of KMCH, said the woman got admitted to the hospital around 9 pm on Saturday and later she was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital following deterioration of her condition where she breathed her last around 4 am.
However, samples were collected from the woman for corona test on Sunday.
A total of 22 people died so far from the virus infection in the district.
