A housewife died at Jashore General Hospital after she was hacked by some miscreants at her house in Boddipur village of Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Rafeza Khatun, 26, wife of Ramjan Ali who is imprisoned in a drug case.
Officer-in-charge of Moheshpur Police Station Morshed Hossain said Rafeza along with her child was sleeping in her house early Saturday when some miscreants hacked her with sharp weapons leaving her severely injured.
She was taken to Jashore General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries later in the morning.
Police were investigating to catch the attackers, OC said.
