The decision was taken at a Professional Football League Committee (PFLC) meeting on Saturday at BFF house with BFF senior vice president cum committee chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy in the chair.
After the meeting Abdus Salam Murshedy MP said, “The 7th round of the league will begin from March 19, we rescheduled the league fixture as our FIFA World Cup and Asia Cup Qualifiers matches will not be held on schedule due to corona virus threat”.
“The league matches will run in all the seven venues across the country like the previous rounds” he added.
During the TC Sports (Maldives) and Bashundhara Kings match here on March 11, the BFF president Kazi Salahuddin said, “We are thinking to arrange league in the one venue due to corona virus.
Regarding the proposal of BFF President Kazi Salahuddin, Abdus Salam Murshedy said, “Our president gave his proposal, we discussed the issue in the meeting, all the clubs, which have home venues outside Dhaka, are interested to play at their home venues as per existing system”.
”Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka have very poor supporters in the gallery, but the district stadiums have huge crowd, The clubs have also taken some responsibilities, they assured us that they will not bring huge supporters which may cause a threat for corona virus”.
However, UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, Spanish La Liga , Italian Serie A have been stopped due to corona virus, but BFF will not stop the league because in our country Corona Virus did not affect much. Everything is going on in our daily life. If we find any special crisis or any direction from the government, then will take emergency decision” said league committee chairman.
He also informed that the BFF will encourage the players not to handshake with each other during the match.
