Police in a drive arrested four people as they gang raped a housewife in front of her husband from Shaheed Nagar Salma Colony in Bayazid Bostami area of Chattogram city early Sunday.
The arrestees are Md Shafi, 34, Md Badsha, 36, Md Javed, 28, and Md Robin, 19 while another accused Md Ibrahim, 36 has been on the run.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ashikur Rahman of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) said that a couple were returning home at around 10:30 pm while five miscreants kidnapped them.
They took the victim in a room of Salma Colony in Bayazid Bostami where they violated the housewife, he said.
Around 2 am, national emergency helpline 999 received a call over the matter while police rushed to the spot and rescued the victims, he added.
Two were arrested from the spot and two others later in police drive, ADC said.
