Police recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified man from Hatirjheel in the capital on Monday.
Locals spotted the body with his hands and legs tied up with rope, wrapped in net and polythene in the lake, said Sub-Inspector of Hatirjheel Police Station Niaz Udin Molla.
The deceased, believed to be in his early 30s, wore blue jeans and a red t-shirt, said police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hosptial morgue for autopsy.
Police say they suspect it is a pre-planned murder.
