Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said that the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sternly against any kind of corruption and irregularities.
Quader also Awami League general secretary came up with the remarks while attending a programme through video conference over distributing safety equipment in hospitals of red zone areas.
Along with facing the coronavirus crisis, standing beside flood affected people is a new challenge for the government, he said adding that ‘But Bangladesh’s success in tackling natural disasters is globally applauded.”
The drives are underway against the people who are providing fake Covid-19 test certificate and low standers equipment in hospitals and it will continue to eradicate corruption from the health sector, Quader said.
“Criminals don’t have any party identity, he will be brought to justice no matter how much power he holds,” he said.
The government is observing zero tolerance against the frauds and illegal traders who are taking advantage of people’s helplessness, the minister warned.
Awami League presidium members Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman and Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim were also present there among others.
