The U.N. health agency and its partners have found in a new study that nearly one in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetimes.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Khulna for allegedly recording an objectionable video of his sister-in-law and raping her multiple times by threatening to make it public,  police said Friday.

A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Thursday seeking amendment in the law to include sexual violence against men as a criminal offence.

Cumilla saw an alarming number of sexual assaults on women, children to the elderly last year. A total of 367 victims put a strain on the locals of Cumilla.

As the country is witnessing a growing number of rape incidents, experts think it is an outcome of ‘sick politics’ as many rapists have ‘political clout’ and advised political parties to go for a ‘course correction’.
