The High Court on Sunday expressed concern over the torture of a madrasa student and ordered all educational institutions to follow the constitution and laws of the country.

A thirteen-year-old girl was kidnapped and sexually violated by a man in Sunamganj, according to a complaint lodged under the ‘Prevention of Women & Children Repression Act’ by the girl’s father.

Police on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly sexually harassing a child on a running bus in Sonargaon of Narayanganj.   The accused was identified as Molin Hossain, 32, assistant of the bus driver.   Sub-Inspector of Sonargaon Police Station Shariful Islam said Molin was arrested after the victim’s mother called the national emergency service 999 around 9am.   Molin sexually harassed the victim when she was sleeping in her seat, he said.   A case has been filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, the police officer said.   Also read: Child rape increased 76.01pc in Bangladesh last year: BSAF
