At least three people were killed after a fire broke out in a residential building in the capital’s Uttara on Friday morning.
Among the deceased, two were women and one was a man, said Talha Bin Zasim, Station Officer of the FSCD headquarters’ media cell. Their identities could not be confirmed immediately.
The fire started on the second floor of the seven-storey building at 7:50am, located on Road No. 18, Sector 11, Uttara.
Two fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control by 8:25am, the officer added.
Thirteen people were rescued and taken to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
