The death toll from a fire that broke out at a residential building in the capital’s Uttara has risen to six, police said on Friday. Among the deceased, three were members of the same family, Sub-Inspector Nazmul Sakib of Uttara West Police Station told UNB. The identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed. Two firefighting units rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control by 8:25am, said Talha Bin Zasim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters’ media cell. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
