A 48-year-old man was beaten to death allegedly by another man on the suspicion that he was having an extramarital affair with the latter's ex-wife in Chattogram port city, police said.
The deceased was identified as Abu Taher, a resident of the Patenga area. The accused has been arrested, police said Saturday.
Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Patenga Police Station, said that the accused, Abdul Jalil, divorced his wife Roushan last month over a family feud.

"Recently, Jalil (40) went to Roushan’s house and desired his wish to remarry her.
During his visit to Roushan’s house, Jalil suspected that she was having an extra-marital affair with Taher," the OC said.
On Thursday night, Jalil, along with two of his aides, went to Taher’s house and beat him up mercilessly, leaving him critically injured. An injured Taher was rushed to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, where he died of his injuries on Friday night.
