Biman Bangladesh Airlines has extended the temporary suspension of all international and domestic flights until April 14.

"So I think you should plan on the basis that you’ll likely be in Bangladesh a bit longer," said the British High Commissioner in a video message. 

Giving quick update for the British visitors with four points, the British envoy said getting British visitors in Bangladesh home to the UK is their top priority at the High Commission. 

"We’re doing everything we can to make sure that happens," he said adding that they are doing everything they can with the government and the airline to make sure they do resume flights.

The British High Commission thinks that commercial flight is probably the quickest and best way for the British nationals to get home to the UK. 

"The third thing is that you will have seen that there is now a global effort being launched by the British government to bring people home from all over the world. If I’m honest, it’ll be a while before that very strictly prioritised effort gets to Bangladesh because the numbers are higher elsewhere," said the High Commissioner. 

Dickson said it is particularly worrying for people who have medical conditions. "And if you have a medical condition, vulnerability or an issue with getting medication please talk to our consular team in the High Commission and they can help signpost you to the best sources for renewing prescriptions and medications."

The High  Commissioner said they are doing everything they can to help British citizens to get home to the UK as quickly as possible. "And I hope that will be possible in the very near future."
