BYLC handed over awards to the six leaders at its second alumni awards ceremony at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital,said a press release.
The 2019 BYLC alumni award winners are Mohammad Nakib, recipient of the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal 2016, in the category of Excellence in Education; Co-founder of Campaign RED Rubina Akter in the category of Social Impact; Lieutenant Sumaiya Afreen of the Bangladesh Navy for Professional Excellence; photographer Kazi Md. Jahirul Islam and filmmaker Sadia Tabassum in the category of Art and Culture; and Abu Sayed Al Sagor, co-founder of BD Assistant Limited, in the category of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Originally conceived at Harvard and MIT in 2008, BYLC was established in Bangladesh in January 2009.
Through its different programs designed for students aged between 13 and 25, BYLC has so far trained more than 3500 students on leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
