He said this while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a fair at Monipur High School and College at Mirpur in the capital.
Some 48 educational institutions are taking part in the four-day fair that will end on February 15.
The state minister said efficient human resources are essential for development of the nation. “The government is underpinning the development of creative and skilled human resources in building a prosperous Bangladesh.”
“The government is making all-out efforts to stop the coaching system. But the government’s initiative will be successful if the guardians can be free from the coaching dependency mentality,” he said.
Students will be taught with compassion in classes and no pressure should be applied on them, Kamal Majumder said.
He added that children will have to have creative books in their hands for developing their full creative talents. “The opportunity to participate in the co-education programmes needs to be further expanded.”
The state minister urged teachers and guardians to be always cautious about the students so that they do not get engaged in drug addiction and militancy.
