With the slogan of ‘Culture, Power and History’, JU Anthropology department has been organising the conference at the seminar room of the department.
Convener of the conference, Professor Siddiqur Rahman confirmed the matter at a press conference at the teachers’ lounge of Social Science faculty in the afternoon.
‘We have organised the conference to uphold the diverse culture, power and histories of the country where teachers of Anthropology from different public universities will take part’, he said.
‘JU Vice Chancellor, Professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the conference as chief guest at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus’, he added.
A total of 17 research papers on identity of post-colonial societies, migration, health, power, visual media, social movement and gender will be presented in six academic sessions of the conference.
