Jahangirnagar University, Feb 7 (UNB) – The students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) demonstrated on Thursday demanding election to the university’s Central Students' Union Jucsu without any delay.
They took out a procession from the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) premises around noon under the banner of Jahangirnagar Sanskritik Jote and later held a short rally in front of the registrar building.
They also submitted a memorandum to JU vice-chancellor demanding Jucsu polls.
“The university administration had assured us of holding Jucsu polls after the national election but we are yet to see any progress in this regard,” said Ashikur Rahman, the president of Jahangirnagar Cultural Alliance.
Later, VC Professor Farzana Islam assured the students that Jucsu polls would be held within this year.
