He was addressing the newly-appointed Assistant Commissioners (Land) while inaugurating a four-week long 11th basic land management training course at the Land Administration Training Center in city’s Katabon area.
“Government has taken zero tolerance policy against corruption. The ministry is monitoring field-level land offices as well as conducting sudden visits,” the minister said.
He also warned about immediate legal action should any evidence of corruption be found.
“A dedicated hotline service shall begin soon to increase transparency,” he added.
The minister urged the Assistant Commissioners to focus on their main duty of serving the people rather than prioritising general protocol duties.
Land Secretary Maksudur Rahman Patwary was present as the special guest.
The training course has already been prolonged by two weeks to turn it into the 4-week course that allows for more intense preparation for the newly appointed Assistant Commissioners.
