Natore, Feb 6 (UNB) – A lawyer and former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League was severely injured in a knife attack by rivals allegedly over a murder case at Dighapatia village in Sadar Upazila on Wednesday.
The injured Nion Hossain, a practising lawyer at Natore District and Sessions Judge’s Court, is now receiving treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), after being referred there in view of the severity of his injuries.
Officer-in-Charge of Natore Sadar Police Station said Nion had been at loggerheads with a local individual named Sajib Hossain following a prosecution of a murder case.
Sajib and his accomplice intercepted Nion’s motorcycle on his way to work in the morning and indiscriminately chopped Nion, leaving him severely wounded.
Later, locals took the injured to Natore Sadar Hospital where duty doctors referred him to RMCH.
