Islami Bank gets ICSB Gold Award for excellence in corporate governance


Islami Bank Bangladesh has won the National Gold Award 2019 of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) for excellence in corporate governance in Islamic banking company category.

Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, received the award from Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi at a city hotel on Saturday.

Commerce Secretary Dr Md Jafar Uddin, ICSB President Muzaffar Ahmed and JQM Habibullah, deputy managing director and company secretary of Islami Bank, were present on the occasion, reads a press release.

Islami Bank gets two Visa awards

Islami Bank recently achieved two awards conferred by Visa, a global payment service provider.

The awards were “Excellence in Product Innovation” and “Excellence in Prepaid Card Business.” They were announced at the “Visa Leadership Concave” held on October 15.

Visa awarded Islami Bank based on business performance from July 2019 to June 2020 among its partner organisations.
