Dhaka, Jan 14 (UNB) – Bangladeshi Grand Master Ziaur Rahman of Saif SC was sharing the 3rd slot in the 17th Delhi International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament along with 16 other players securing six points after the 8th round matches in New Delhi on Monday.
FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, also from Saif SC, earned 5 points while FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Golden SC and Md Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank earned three points each.
Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Golden SC bagged 3.5 points while Sazzad Kishor of Dhaka Knight’s CC collected three points and Ali Ahsan Jewel managed two points after the 8th round matches.
In the 8th round matches, GM Zia beat FM Shailesh Dravid of India, FM Fahad defeated Abzid, FM Parag lost to Y Grahesh of India, Tahsin drew with Manish Kumar of India, Sazzad outplayed Dinesh Kumar Gupta of India while Jewel got walkover against Adithya Vishveshwaran of India.
