Winning the toss, Victoria Academy batted first and were all out for 99 runs in 24.5 overs in a 50 over–a-side match with Shanta only reaching double figure scoring 11 runs. The team’s highest score 51 runs came from extras.
Sabbir grabbed four wickets conceding 48 runs in seven overs.
In reply, GK Pilot High School were all out for 94 runs in 29.3 overs despite of 27 runs by all-rounder Maruf, who furnished his innings with three boundaries and two sixes.
Victoria Academy pacer Shahid claimed four wickets giving away 11 runs in his 7.3 overs spell and was adjudged man of the final while spinner Sifat also grabbed four wickets for 34 runs.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) John Kennedy Zambil was the chief in the day’s final and later he distributed the prizes.
Principal of Sherpur Govt. College Prof Sarwar Jahan, general secretary of Sherpur DSA Nazimul Haque Nazim and President of Mymensingh Division Cricket Umpires Association Hakim Babul, among others, were also present on the occasion.
