Dhaka, Dec 29 (UNB) - The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is set to replace its contingent at the UN Peacekeeping Mission in the Republic of Mali.
As part of the move, 110 BAF members, including four female officers, left Dhaka on Saturday morning, an ISPR press release said.
Group Captain Md Mamunur Rashid is leading the contingent.
BAF has been lauded for its role in mitigating conflict in Mali by working with efficiency, professionalism and sincerity.
A special prayer was offered at the Dhaka airport before the peacekeepers’ departure in presence of senior BAF officers.
The contingent was briefed by Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat on December 24. He had also taken part in a special prayer for the success of the mission.
