The information minister was impressed seeing the children playing at the ‘Sharika Fantasy Imaging World Park’ around 9pm.
He said he learned through newspapers that a charge-free entertainment centre for autistic children had been set up at the fair at the inspiration of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed Hossain.
“It is really an impressive initiative by Jubo League leader Mahbubur Rahman. I hope this initiative will inspire others in the society,” he hopped.
PM’s daughter Saima Wazed is a role model in raising awareness about children with autism around the world, the minister added.
Warm clothes were also distributed among the 110 autistic children later.
Palash, Jubo League’s Dhaka South unit vice-president, said he was working for humanity.
“They do not get the chance for entertainment like other children do. That’s why I provided them this opportunity,” he said. “I started working for the special children after being inspired by PM’s daughter Saima Wazed.”
