The President, who is on a three-day visit to his home district, held a series of views-exchange meetings with local leaders of different political parties, representatives of different professional bodies, freedom fighters, government officials and women leaders at Kishoreganj Circuit House auditorium on the first day.
He asked the government officials to work with utmost honesty and sincerity so that all projects financed by the public money are properly implemented.
Abdul Hamid underscored the need for playing an active and positive role in making the development activities a success.
Turning to the freedom fighters, he said the incumbent government continued to provide all necessary support for the welfare of the heroes of the sacred soil. “The nation will recall the contribution of the brave sons of the nation to achieving independence and sovereignty,” he said.
Noting that women are very important part of the total population, the President said, “The active participation of the women folk will have to be ensured in all sectors to continue development.”
He also urged all to come forward to materialise the "Digital Bangladesh" concept of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
