Dhaka, Feb 6 (UNB) — Dhaka Dynamites won the toss and decided to bowl first in the Qualifier-2 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) against Rangpur Riders on Wednesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The Dynamites beat Chittagong Vikings in the Eliminator and advanced to the Qualifier-2 while the Riders lost to Comilla Victorians and got another chance in today's match to advance to the final.
The Riders lost four of their first six matches in the league stage while the Dynamites enjoyed a different taste as they won five of their first six matches in the same stage.
Despite a poor start to the tournament, the Riders bounced back in the latter part of the league stage and registered six consecutive wins to rally to the playoffs. The Dynamites also managed to get into the playoffs.
In the last BPL final, these teams were the contenders where Chris Gayle hit a tremendous ton and helped the Riders win the title for the first time.
