With a view to ensuring parents' acceptance of family planning services, Save the Children in Bangladesh and Department of Family Planning on Monday launched 'Songjog' project.
Director General of the Family Planning Department Quazi AKM Mohiul Islam was present as the chief guest of the event.
With the financial support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the said project will work to raise awareness and service for family planning of first-born parents in a joint effort by the Department of Family Planning and other partners, said a press release.
Initially, the project will operate in two upazilas --- Kabirhat and Subarnchar in Noakhali district. Later it will expand in other upazilas.
