Students of Barishal University (BU) blocked the Dhaka-Barishal highway adjacent to the main gate of the campus today, demanding the abolition of the quota system in government jobs. The blockade created a 5km long tailback on both sides of the highway.
Hundreds of students initiated a procession on the campus before taking to the streets at noon. They called on their fellow students to join the anti-quota movement in front of the four dormitories.
