The arrestee was identified as Reazul Abir, 31.
After Dr Moyeen died of coronavirus on April 15, a vested group started spreading derogatory remarks on social media about him to cause indignation among physicians, Additional SP Khairul Alam of the Cyber Police Centre said.
He said many doctors contacted them and requested taking legal action against those spreading propaganda on social media.
A team of Cyber Police Centre raided East Badda and arrested Abir at around 12:25pm, he said. Legal action is being taken against him.
