The body of a fisherman was recovered while 10 others remained missing after a fishing trawler sank almost 20 kilometres away from Matarbari island in Moheshkhali on Friday.
Confirming the incident, station officer of Coastguard in Moheshkhali said members of Navy and Coastguard are carrying out a rescue operation.
After the trawler sank, LNG ship and fishing boat ‘Sea Power’ immediately rescued 12 fishermen from Bay of Bengal.
There were 23 people on the fishing trawler that sank in the Moheshkhali channel.
