Nazmul said this while talking to the media at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday on his return after attending the ICC meeting.
“We’re unable to send our team to Pakistan without getting security clearance from the government. As far as I know, a security observer team will go to Pakistan soon and the Pakistan tour is depending on their report,” he told the media.
Bangladesh women’s team are scheduled to tour Pakistan later this month to play a one-day and a T20 series. After that, the Bangladesh national team are scheduled to play a full-pledged series against Pakistan early next year.
“Every team is equal to us when the security is main concern. We are not sending our team to Pakistan without getting green signal from the top officials of the Bangladesh government,” Nazmul further said.
Meanwhile, he expressed the hope that Sourav Ganguly’s top position in BCCI will help Bangladesh in many ways. “It’s really good that Sourav will be the president of BCCI. We have a good relationship with him. He played in Bangladesh many times and he is really close to us. I think it’ll help both countries,” Nazmul said.
