LPG price hiked by Tk 387 per 12-kg cylinder for April
The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been increased again at the consumer level, with the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) raising the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder by Tk 387 for April.
According to a BERC announcement issued on Thursday afternoon, the new price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has been fixed at Tk 1,728 up from Tk 1,341.
The revised price will come into effect from 6pm.
According to the regulator, the retail price of private LPG (including VAT) has been fixed at Tk 144.04 per kg at the consumer level.
The price of a 5.5-kg cylinder has been set at Tk 792, 12.5 kg at Tk 1,801, 15kg at Tk 2,161, 16kg at Tk 2,305, 18kg at Tk 2,593 and 20kg at Tk 2,881.
Similarly, a 22kg cylinder will cost Tk 3,169, 25kg Tk 3,601, 30kg Tk 4,321, 33kg Tk 4,753, 35kg Tk 5,041 and 45kg cylinder Tk 6,428.
In March, LPG prices remained unchanged in the local market.
However, on February 23, the price of a 12kg cylinder was reduced by Tk 15 to Tk 1,341, which had remained in effect until the latest revision.
Meanwhile, the price of autogas has also been increased for April. The VAT-inclusive retail price has been set at Tk 79.77 per litre, up by Tk 17.94.
Previously, on March 2, the price of autogas was last adjusted, when it was reduced by Tk 0.03 to Tk 61.83 per litre at the consumer level.
