In the wake of the repeated crisis of onions, Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque on Wednesday directed the researchers, scientists and officials concerned to adopt a specific action plan for Bangladesh to become self-sufficient in onion production.

Giving utmost priority on agriculture sector to tackle food crisis amid coronavirus situation, the government has taken all-out measures, said Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque.   Amid the global coronavirus pandemic, farmers are also facing adverse situation along with rest of the world. To address this, the government is giving various incentives including subsidy with utmost importance to the agriculture sector, said the minister.
