50 years of Bangladesh's independence: Singer offers 50% discount on special edition refrigerators
Electronics and home appliances retailer Singer Bangladesh has come up with a 50 per cent discount on its special edition refrigerators to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh's independence.
The designs of the refrigerators are inspired by the 1971 Liberation War and the celebration of victory.

Chandana Samarasinghe, marketing director of Singer Bangladesh, said: "Singer Bangladesh is proud to be a part of the celebration of 50 years of Bangladesh's independence."
In March this year, Singer launched a year-long programme to mark and commemorate the 50 years of Bangladesh's independence with special edition products and offers.

Multinational military exercise "Shantir Ogroshena" to begin Sunday
Multinational military exercise "Shantir Ogroshena - 2021" (Front Runner of Peace) will begin here on Sunday to commemorate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mark glorious 50 years of Bangladesh's Independence.
Indian Army contingent comprising of 30 personnel including Officers, JCOs and Jawans of a Battalion from The DOGRA Regiment will participate in the exercise along with contingent of Royal Bhutan Army, Sri Lankan Army and Bangladesh Army.

The theme of the exercise (April 4-12) is - Robust Peace Keeping Operations, according to Indian Ministry of Defence.
Military observers from USA, UK, Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Singapore will also be in attendance throughout the exercise.

An Indian Air Force AN-32 airlifted a 30-member Contingent of the Dogra Regiment of the Indian Army to Dhaka on Saturday.

Robi celebrates 50 years of Bangladesh with 'Amar Shadhinotar Awaz'
Robi has launched the year-long campaign "Amar Shadhinotar Awaz" to mark the 50 years of Bangladesh's independence.
The campaign targets collecting sounds of everyday life which they identify with as meaning of independence in their own lives.

An aspiring cricketer may identify independence with the sweet sound of a perfectly timed shot; for a self-independent woman, it may be the sound of typing a computer while doing her own freelance work.
To participate in the campaign, one needs to simply record a sound that they identify with as the meaning of independence in their lives, and submit it through the Robi website, Robi Facebook Messenger. They can also upload the sound on social media platforms.

A participant can submit multiple audio recordings using Google drive, YouTube links or directly recorded file using Facebook Messenger's voice recording option.
The submission process will continue until November 30 this year.
